Nestled on the serene shores of Dangar Island, the Dangar Island Depot is not just a cafe; it’s a cornerstone of community life and a must-visit for anyone venturing to this picturesque locale. Located at 2 Neotsfield Ave, this charming oasis offers a delightful escape with stunning views that complement every delicious bite.

Stepping into the Depot feels like entering a friendly neighborhood hub where good food and great coffee come together effortlessly. The moment you taste their acclaimed cheeseburger—a towering delight packed with flavors—you'll understand why Jason, a satisfied customer, raves about it. The sheer size and taste make it an essential stop for those looking to fill their bellies before setting off to explore the beauty of the island.

The menu here isn't just limited to burgers; there are also inviting sides like creamy avocado and house-made tomato relish that elevate your meal. For an indulgent treat, you can’t miss the Affogato—vanilla ice cream topped with a rich shot of their finest coffee. Emad Masoud, a happy patron, mentions enjoying this alongside a peaceful breakfast, accentuated by the surrounding natural beauty and tranquility of the setting.

But the Depot is not merely about the food; it’s the entire experience. The cafe features both indoor and outdoor seating, letting you soak up the island’s atmosphere in whichever way you prefer. Whether you’re gazing out at the water while sipping a refreshing Kombucha or enjoying a cup of English Breakfast tea, every seat offers a unique perspective of the breathtaking views. Seth Barbarona highlights the joy of enjoying meals outdoors with friends while watching kookaburras and soaking in the sights.

For those arriving via ferry from Brooklyn, Kevin Kelty notes the convenience of the Depot’s location, just a short stroll from the wharf. The friendly staff, who go the extra mile to ensure your visit is enjoyable, further enhance the inviting atmosphere. While it should be noted that there’s no restroom in the cafe, the public facilities are located nearby, making it easy for patrons to manage their needs before or after dining.

In summary, the Dangar Island Depot is more than just a cafe—it’s a place where locals and visitors alike can come together to enjoy quality meals in a stunning setting. After a gratifying meal, take a moment to explore the island’s serene paths or perhaps linger to observe the local wildlife. You’ll leave not just satiated, but enriched by the warm and friendly spirit of this hidden gem.

Chill out and get the ferry from Brooklyn to Dangar Island, the Depot is close to the wharf and has great coffee and meals as well as being the general store for the island. Wheelchair accessible but no restrooms, the public restrooms are a short walk away near the bowling club. Enjoy a good meal at the Depot and have a relaxing walk around the island, look for the kookaburras and other birds.

This place is very peaceful especially on weekdays. You get a multi million dollars views combined with the best coffees as well as very nice breakfast or lunch options. I would highly recommend the Affogato (vanilla ice cream with the best coffee shot possible) as well as the beef burger. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating- so on a cold day it’s great to sit inside while waiting for the ferry

We arrived in Dangar Island and this cafe welcomed us. The island is pretty small and nice. I love how friendly the staff were. They also have homemade tomato sauce and everything is just really nice there. My friends and I had our meal outdoors with the beautiful view. I love it. Such a wonderful weekend.

Most beautiful views!! The cookie and hot choc were fantastic, but the customer service is the best part. The server was so friendly and accommodating (even so close to closing time). Loved it, thank you

Burger was good. Expected fries instead of chips, but at least the chips came in 2 flavours. Service was a bit slow, but apparently because the bowling club was closed on the day I visited, they were busier than usual. Worth the $20+ return ticket on the ferry just to come here for lunch? Prob not, but still unexpectedly good for being only 1 of 2 eatery options on the island.
